CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — A 23-year-old woman has died following a homicide at an apartment complex on Scaleybark Road on June 19, 2026, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) confirmed.
Authorities identified the victim as Sa’Niya Briana Charise Latimore. According to CMPD, the incident occurred after a fight inside the apartment complex, which escalated into a fatal assault.
Investigators said Latimore was struck in the head during the altercation and lost consciousness. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but she was pronounced dead at the location. Officials stated that the cause of death was consistent with blunt force trauma.
Police have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the case, and the investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
