ARIMA, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO — Police are investigating a brutal homicide after businessman Sterling Francois was found dead inside his home on Saturday morning in what authorities believe was a violent overnight attack.
Francois, the owner of Langley’s Enterprises, was discovered at his residence in the Trestrail Development area behind Clever Heights Development in Arima after concerns were raised about his whereabouts.
According to initial reports, the attack is believed to have occurred sometime after he returned home on Friday night, June 19, 2026. His body was found the following morning, June 20, after police were alerted to the scene.
Investigators say the home had been ransacked, suggesting a possible robbery-related motive, although authorities have not confirmed this as the official cause of the attack.
Police sources reported that Francois suffered multiple severe injuries, including both stab wounds and chop wounds, indicating a violent confrontation inside the residence.
Homicide detectives are also reviewing reports that another individual was seen with Francois prior to his death. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal incident and whether others were involved.
Francois was known locally as a businessman involved in several ventures, including Kyva General Contractors Limited, a vehicle rental business, and other commercial operations.
Law enforcement officials say the investigation remains active as they continue to gather evidence and identify those responsible for the killing.
