The Hopkinsville community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Neveah Gill, who died after being shot Monday night at the Eagle Crossing Apartments on Calvin Drive in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex and arrived to find Gill lying in a nearby field suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators said she had been shot at least twice, with injuries to her shoulder and abdomen.
Hopkinsville EMS transported Gill to Jennie Stuart Health while performing CPR. Despite extensive lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, she later succumbed to her injuries. The Christian County Coroner’s Office subsequently pronounced her deceased.
As detectives worked to process the scene, police were also called to the hospital following reports of a disturbance involving family members and medical staff. Law enforcement secured the area where Gill was found and cordoned off an apartment within the complex as investigators gathered evidence and examined the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with Neveah Gill’s death. However, authorities confirmed that two individuals who were reportedly found hiding in nearby woods were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Police have not released information regarding a possible motive or the events leading up to the shooting.
